Why I love Asia and Asian people? The main thing is that Asia is full of traditions and Asian people try to keep them. Relationships with children and older generation, celebrations, cultural features in Asia always come together with respect and appreciation. Most of the celebrations in Asia are connected with family and religion, have cultural and historical meaning.
While we discussing bad and awful behavior of Chinese tourists in Thailand, we need to look at ourselves and prevent our European bad behavior.
Songkran 2016 is coming, in 3 days in Bangkok will start the celebration. Hope you will remember, that Songkran in Thailand it is not just a party of wet t-shirts and dancing naked people. Songkran it is traditional, historical and family celebration. When you will take part in this celebration, please try do not misrepresent the meaning of Songkran water festival in Thailand (what you must know about Songkran).
Disgusting behavior of foreigners during Songkran:
During Songkran 2013 in Chiang Mai, one European Borat thought, that it is too hot in Thailand and decided to wear.. No, decided not to wear any clothes. On YouTube video we can see people, which think that it is funny, but it is not. Maybe on the swimming pool party this outfit will be ok, but not during Songkran.
Some tourists go forward and we can find videos and photos when farangs are dancing naked during Songkran in different parts of Thailand. It is disgusting, vulgarly and abusively. Especially, if you know that Songkran it is a family celebration and there are a lot of children on the streets.
Dear tourists, travelers and expats let’s just remember that:
- even during Songkran, people have phones and cameras and all, that you doing while you are drunk – will be in the Internet less than an hour
- you outfit must be conform to family celebration (T-shirts and shorts will be ok)
- if you see, that someone drunk, dancing and making striptease on the street during Songkran – do something except just photos and laugh (honestly, I do not know what to do, because I am woman 555!)
